Application and Removal

Hi Everyone,

So, application and removal. They are absolutely key to your jams (that's what we call the wraps in the business, oh yeah, I'm down with the lingo!) going on well and lasting. If you get this wrong they will not be as smooth or durable.

Now, I dont know about you but I an quite a visual person, so I found that the easiest way for me to learn was to watch the video here (It's on my website). I would recommend watching it all the way thought first then doing it step by step. It may seem boring but once you learn how to do it properly you will be amazed at how well you put them on.

They dont require much in the way of equipment

Here are written instructions for if you need them:

  1. Push back cuticles and clean nails with a Nail Prep Wipe (In the UK we have alcohol wipes, it's ok to use them too) or rubbing alcohol (not vodka, also dont drink this stuff!). When applying wraps over lacquer, apply a fresh coat and allow to dry.
  2. Match nail (finger or toe) to the nail wrap that best fits. Remember to leave that tiny gap, gaps are your friend (say it 3 times, go on, I'm waiting).
  3. Cut nail wrap in half.
  4. Peel off nail wrap and warm with a Mini Heater (go get it now, its totally worth it!) or blow-dryer for 3-5 seconds or until soft and flexible. Make sure to heat the adhesive side, you will see it start to warp slightly.
  5. When warm, press the wrap onto the nail. Apply firm pressure around edges to adhere the wrap to the nail. Use rubber cuticle pusher to seal the wrap around the base of the cuticle. If in doubt just squash it against your finger, make sure you dont get any pesky bubbles though!
  6. To remove excess, trim the top with scissors and file off remaining wrap using a downward motion. Do not do this until the wrap is dry.
  7. Apply heat and pressure to the wrap again until it is bonded to the nail. Squash that baby on one more time!

You got it? Good! Enjoy them and show them off to everyone, I did! When you are ready to remove them go to the website to look for the removal video or follow these instructions

Break the seal by getting under the edge of the wrap with your opposite thumbnail. Then, soak the nail wrap in nail varnish remover for 20-30 seconds and gently peel the wrap from side to side. Soaking will break down the adhesive bond and allow them to easily slide off the nail bed.

Or, you can rub coconut oil on them and use a flosser to gently remove them, while adding more coconut oil to lubricate it. Remember to do this from side to side, not cuticle to tip. The coconut oil is great for your nails too. Win win! Now go out and get some more!

If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask me, go and have lots of jam fun.............and then report back to me so I dont miss out!!

Take care!

The 7 day Jamberry challenge!

Hi Everyone,

We have this thing called the 7 day challenge and it shows you how well our wraps hold up in comparison to other wraps and nail polish. You can choose any other brand you like, its entirely up to you. If you want to try the 7 day challenge I will happily send you one, just contact me on here or my Facebook page.

So here is my newly manicured hand!

Jerra's hand
7 day challenge start
The black and white one is my jamberry wrap, the other blue ones are my Barry M nail polish. Now, do you remember that time I said I was incredibly shaky? Well, that's why I don't do my own nails! Here is the story I shared with my team, it just reinforces why I love Jamberry so much.

I settled down to do my nails and using my hair dryer I popped my Jamberry wraps on, it was the first time I had ever done it and I followed the application video to the letter. They were perfect. Go me!! Then came the nail polish, I covered my legs with a magazine and wore a pyjama tshirt as I really didn't trust myself, I then covered my fingers in a small amount of vaseline as polish comes off the skin easier that way and began the ridiculous process. I finally managed to get all my nails painted and then had to wait for what felt like about 6 hours for it to dry, then wipe all the vaseline, which was now blue, off and tidy up.

I was really pleased that I had managed to do it unscathed on the surface of it, but it wasn't until i went into the bathroom that I realised I actually had it on my nose and one of my eyebrows. Great. I had to scrub it from my nose with a nail varnish remover wipe and then my eyebrow. It was while scrubbing my eyebrow that I noticed I also had it on my elbow. Ridiculous. I was really annoyed that I had been so careful but my stupid jerky movements had still got it everywhere, cue muttering ferociously and dribbling!

I then went about my daily life of shaking, muttering, claiming to be 'absolutely fine' and watching tipping point for the next few days, looking at my nails and smiling at the Jamberry wrap on my nails, holding my finger in the air and hoping the postman will notice my pretty hands (he didn't, we shall have words!!). Join me in the shower for a second (not physically cos I cant fit us all in and I don't really like nakedness so just hypothetically ok?!) it was then that I found it..........hiding in darkness like a little evil thing..........yep......... I had nail polish in my belly button. In my belly button. Disgusting. I cleaned that up and decided to never tell any one, I did say my brain wasn't working, so whats inside often come out without me meaning too, although in this case I did because I thought you all should know the dangers of a functional movement issue and nail polish.

This is what my nails looked like at the end of the 7 day challenge

Don't judge me on them, they are nice than that now! I am immensely pleased to report that the jamberry wraps held up so well there wasn't anything at all wrong with them where as the nail polish couldn't escape me fast enough! So there you go, this is my proof that they are amazing, but don't take my word for it, try them for yourself. Message me for a free 7 day challenge sample.

Take care!

What is Jamberry?

Hi,

I'm Jerra and I'm just starting off on a new journey that I hope you will join me on? I have just signed up as a brand new Jamberry Independent Consultant! Very exciting!

What is Jamberry?

Great! I'm glad you asked that (if you didn't I'm going to tell you anyway!), it is a direct sales company that sells vinyl nail wraps, I can almost feel you grown at the thought of direct sales, but stay with me, it's worth it. These are different, they are not bad for your nails or tested on animals, they are non toxic and last for ages, just see the picture below

Jamberry Nail Information

There are many other nail sticker companies out there so why choose Jamberry? That's simple, they are not just nail stickers, they require heat and pressure upon application to get them to adhere to your nails which in turn makes them last for up to 2 weeks on your fingers and 4 weeks on your toes. They do not contain anything nasty and if I accidentally nibble my nails they wont harm me! The application and removal are the most important part of getting the best out of the nail wraps, I will go through that with you in another post, but for now I want you to be aware that this product is out there, and it is about to take the UK by storm!

My personal reason for joining Jamberry is primarily my love of the company ethics and the wraps themselves, they come in so many designs its hard to choose between them. The company was started by 3 sisters who wanted to save money on their manicures and still look good, they saw a gap in the market and they went for it (Thanks ladies!). But even though they are a multi million dollar company they have kept the closeness of a family run business. We support each other. We help each other and we even have a set of brand values to stick to.

I was invited to a friends party online, I wasn't sure what they were and thought I would give it a go as they had not arrived in the UK at that point. That is where I met Litia, she's my sponsor, but not in an alcoholics anonymous way, in a leader kind of way. She's amazing, she offered me the opportunity to become a consultant and said that Jamberry is about to launch into the UK and I could be part of it. I respectfully declined, how could I do it? someone like me? its just not possible.

I dont like to talk about myself very much, I find it a bit uncomfortable, I am British after all! But for this purpose I shall share with you my 'why'. Jamberry ask you to think of a 'why', why are you doing this? Why Jamberry? etc and my why is short and to the point, I cant make a cup of tea for myself, but I can put on my own Jamberry nails. It seems small doesn't it? Well if you could see me at this moment in time you would see its not a small thing to me. About a year ago I was a teacher, I loved my job, truly loved it, but unfortunately I suffered from a brain virus that left me with brain function issues (basically I shake like I have parkinsons, my speech is often slurred and gruff and I have memory issues too. I should also point out that I have a paralysed right leg too so I walk with crutches, that wasn't the virus though, that's a whole other story!). So when I say its not a small thing, it really isnt, and it got me thinking, if I can do this, other people like me can do this too, us differently able people can have a job, make our own money and be part of society. I had struck gold. The jackpot. The big one. I could do my own freakin nails! I did feel a bit emotional but, as I said, I'm British so all that stiff upper lip jazz came into it.

I approached Litia again, I knew she was expecting to hear from me, she told me I could speak to her about it any time, so I took her kind offer up and we spoke for ages over facebook messenger. I was honest with her about my difficulties, one of which is being unable to speak to someone I haven't previously met as my brain doesn't process it fast enough and her advice was simple 'You will rock it, think of all the people you could help' she was right, I could help others, that was my thoughts too. She listened to me and understood everything I was worried about, she was there when I needed her, day or night.

So here I am, a fully fledged consultant and very very proud to be part of Litia and Tiffany's team. There are so many people I could name on my team who are amazing, but I'm sure you will hear about them on my journey. I shared my story with them all recently and to my surprise they were all very accepting of me, not something that usually happens. I was lucky enough to meet 2 executives this week at a meeting held locally, Lisa and Rachel, they were lovely. Didn't seem to care that I was a quivering mess, just treated me like everyone else (that makes me very happy!). They gave excellent advice and took the time to speak to me afterwards, even had their photo taken with me! I could have burst with pride! I am proud to be working in a company that is inclusive, acceptable and adaptable, they really wont turn anyone away, if you want to do it, you can with Jamberry.

Next time I shall tell you about my first week as a consultant and how I took up the 7 day challenge!

So, buckle up dear friends, it's going to be a bumpy ride!
