Party Types (facebook)

Hello there,

This week I am concentrating on party types, which ones I can offer and what I can do to make the parties more fun. There seems to be 3 main ways to have a party for Jamberry, the facebook party, the catalogue party and the home party. So I split them into sections and thought I would share my findings with you all :) Please feel free to pinch any of my ideas, one of the jamberry values is to be a blessing! Today I will focus on the facebook party side of things.

Facebook Party -

A lot of people  in the UK seem to be nervous of this (you know, that scowly-eye look followed by a hmmm noise that us Brits do!) it seems they they cannot believe such a concept exists, but it does, and its good. Now, the main crux of the party is getting people to attend, this is where your hostess coaching comes in. You must explain to the host that they need to invite people individually, it makes people feel like the host actually wants them their rather than sending a genetic email to 147 people you have on facebook! I find that sending them a script can help, something like this,

 "Hey *** , I'm having a facebook party for Jamberry nail wraps and would really like it if you could be there? It's actually held here on facebook and its only about half hour long so it wont take up much of your time. My independent consultant Jerra has a website for you to look at all the amazing products they sell, jerra.jamberry.com. She is also happy to give a way free samples if you want to try one before the party? I know its a new concept but these parties really are fun, and you dont even have to leave the house! Give me a shout if you want to be on the guest list!"

Or something similar to that, I change it up to suit the host. Now, once you have people invited you can set up an event page and give it a catchy name and put up a striking banner, like this,

You want to make it fun, make it appeal to people. Then let the host add their friends to the event, greet people as they join, individually to acknowledge them. Make sure the description is actually descriptive, putting 'Jamberry party' in it doesn't tell people how amazing the product is, or what Jamberry actual is. Remember your market, if its the UK they are soooo new here you really have to explain everything. Even when I do a full description I still get messages asking what it is (these make me smile as it gives me the chance to really go into one about how brilliant they are and how much I adore them!!), gently guide them to the description but still give them a brief overview.

Don't bombard people with posts, I tend to don one a day until the day of the party when I do an hour, 30minute and 15minute countdown before the party begins. Be generous, offer samples to people, ensure they know they are free and you are giving them because you chose to, not because you have to. Be nice, this may sound silly but remember that things can be misinterpreted and sometimes people dont always get the gist of what you actually mean, it would be horrible to offend someone by accident. Be prepared, have a script or at least a time line of what you are going to post and when, do not wing it, people can tell if you are disorganised.

Don't tell them, show them, this is not one I am able to follow yet as I haven't managed to get the confidence to make a video yet but it really is a good idea. When I have perfected using the software and managed to do a take where I dont drop everything or spit on the screen or just pause staring into space for a bit, I will post them in my parties. Showing someone your excitement is much better than telling them you are excited with a million exclamation marks!!!!!!

I prefer not to theme these at the moment but that's because I am still new to it and haven't quite perfected my own yet, so why am I telling you all of this when I haven't perfected it? That's easy, and to be honest you really should have been paying attention when I told you this before!! Its a journey. As I learn I will tell you, I did promise that you could be there every step of the way and I meant it so bare with me while I muck it up till I get it right!

More goals and planning!

So today I want to talk to you about more goals and planning. Don't groan, stay with me! Planning is a massive part of the journey to being successful. I am truly lucky with Jamberry as they provide us with so many resources to help on the journey (I love that they call it a journey by the way, it's such a nice way to put it). It's quite easy to get overwhelmed with all the information but if you take it in in little bits it can make it easier to remember, or if like me you are not processing information well, write it down on flash cards you will be fine!

Obviously a new plan needs a new planner!! Look at this little beauty!!

Vintage Style Planner

It is so lovely! You can get one too, its from paperchase. I was a little disappointed with the inside, not they lay out but the colours. Its black and gray. Boring. So I got hold of some carpe diem inserts and now its colourful and perfect.

Planning is the key to hosting more parties, it sounds obvious but I do see people turning up to host parties unplanned, it is not a good idea. For a start Jamberry is a respectable company that has worked hard on their reputation and their values, you do not want to let them down. I choose to over prepare because that way I'm (hopefully) never caught out. It also gives you the chance to read the room, not every party wants to have games and some want ALL the games.

I have a party timeline that I am working on at the moment, its a way of keeping on track during the parties, so I dont forget anything. I also use a lot of visuals to help me as I cannot always get my point across (stupid voice!). At some point I will take you through my kit bag so you know what I take with me to parties.

Don't slack on your facebook planning either, just because its online doesn't mean its easy! A good party is planned well! Have it planned in advance so all you have to do is post the pictures, that allows you to concentrate on your guests.

May is mine!!

 Hey you,

So its the beginning of May and I am upping my game! May is my month! You see, I think if I start off positively then the month can only be good. It was quite daunting going back to zero this morning but its like wiping the slate clean, that's definitely a positive thing in my mind. If you have a weird or slow month then you are literally only stuck in that month for......well........a month (is that jibberish? I'm not sure!) So you can pick yourself up and dust yourself off and start again!

It's often said in life that goal setting is very important as it helps you keep focus of what you want to achieve, wether that is a long term one, short term one, business or personal, goals can help you stay on track. Some days my goal for that particular time is to leave the house and not get annoyed with people staring at me because I'm wobbly, or sometimes it's not spilling my drink everywhere. The bigger things include going to yoga, which I know should be relaxing and it is but it's also massively challenging for me, you try doing mountain pose with a functional movement disorder and a paralysed right leg.....it's......well actually it's hilarious! But I can't do many poses, some I just do something similar but I'm lucky because I have a wonderful teacher (hi Emma!) who is a geek like me and actually enjoys learning about the body and tells us how things are helping anatomically which for my is much better cos then I have a chance of locating the bit I'm supposed to be working on!

So what's this got to do with Jamberry? Hold your horses and I shall explain! Goal setting is how you can achieve the things you want to achieve, it's no different in Jamberry. Every month I will be asked what my goals are so Litia and Tiffany and my team can all work together to achieve them. One of my May goals is to find a local event I can attend with Jamie my new friend, she's great, I haven't told you about her yet. She is a Jamberry consultant too, here in the UK and she's working really hard to make her business a success, we speak over messenger and support each other when we need it. I won't go into detail but she did something she was scared of the other day, in business I mean, and I was so proud of her. I love that Jamberry gives us the opportunities to push out of our comfort zones.

Here are my goals for this month-

1) Hit my first fast start (this is an incentive thing we have going on, it's really cool, you can earn marketing products and stuff'!)

2) Book 3 parties

3) Find an event to do with Jamie

Not massive goals but enough to keep me occupied and remain active for the month.

She's great about that, helps me find ways to cope with what I struggle to do. I secretly love her, but dont tell her, she might get embarrassed!!
